Thomas Gorter

Postdoc

Thomas Gorter is currently working as a cardiology resident at the University Medical Center Groningen. In 2018, he completed his PhD on ‘The right ventricle in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction’ and his doctoral dissertation was awarded cum laude. During his PhD, he also did a research fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is still involved in research at the Department of Cardiology, which is focused on gaining better insights in the pathophysiology and potential treatments of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction. He is supported by a Mandema grant from the University Medical Center Groningen, which allows him to successfully set up his own research line besides his residency.
