Nienke Stege

PhD Student

Nienke Stege received her bachelor’s degree in Biology (2016) and master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences (2018) from the University of Groningen. In December 2018, she started working as a PhD candidate at the Experimental Cardiology department of the UMCG, under the supervision of prof. dr. Rudolf de Boer and dr. Herman Silljé. Her current study focuses on the investigation of PLN-R14del cardiomyopathy.

Current activities

Nienke is working on a project that concerns both basic science and pre-clinical research on PLN-R14del cardiomyopathy. She is investigating the disease mechanism  and new treatment strategies in an in vivo model for PLN-R14del cardiomyopathy.
