Lisa Emmens wins best heart failure oral presentation at NVVC

On 5 and 6 November 2020 the autumn congress of the Nederlandse Vereninging voor Cardiologie (Dutch Cardiology Society) took place, for the first time on a digital platform. The theme this year revolved around “Network Medicine” and touched upon subjects like organisation of Cardiology care inside the hospital and outside the hospital, collaboration between all caregivers involved, digital opportunities, and also included scientific abstract sessions on 6 topics within the field of Cardiology. In these abstract sessions, each presenter delivered a short oral presentation about their study, and afterwards a winner was elected based on 50% votes from the public and 50% votes from a jury. Lisa Emmens received the most votes in the heart failure abstract session and was therefore elected the winner of this session! She presented results on a novel parameter that may be used to monitor renal proximal tubular function, a vital segment of the kidney, in heart failure. We congratulate Lisa on this achievement!

All abstracts will be published in The Netherlands Heart Journal and can be found on www.cardiologie.nl.
