Sanne de Wit

PhD Student

Sanne de Wit received her master’s degree in Biomedical Sciences with honours at the University of Groningen. In September 2019 Sanne started as a PhD candidate under supervision of prof. dr. Rudolf de Boer and dr. Herman Silljé at the department of cardiology at the University Medical Center Groningen. Her project is focused the mechanisms by which heart failure promotes tumorigenesis and which secreted factors are involved in this process.

Current activities

Sanne is currently studying the effect of different types of heart failure on tumor growth in in vivo models. In addition, she is studying the effect of cardiac secreted factors on proliferation in vitro.
