After completing her medical degree in March 2024 at the University of Groningen, Maria Papavasileiou started working as a PhD candidate at the Cardiology Research department of UMCG. Under the supervision of Dr. Erik Lipsic, Dr. Gabija Pundziute, and Prof. Rozemarijn Vliegenthart, Maria investigates the potential of novel imaging techniques, particularly the photon counting computed tomography (PCCT), as an alternative to invasive coronary angiography. Her current research focuses on improving the diagnosis of NSTEMI patients, exploring advanced imaging approaches to enhance patient outcomes and streamline treatment decisions.
