Itamar Dias received his biotechnology degree from Rutgers University, USA( 2017), and in 2020 received his degree on Molecular Medicine and Innovative Treatments (MMIT) from the University of Groningen. In February 2021, Itamar started working as a Ph.D. Candidate under the supervision of prof. Dr. Peter van der Meer and co-supervised by Dr. Nils Bömer at the Experimental Cardiology department of the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG). His research aims to investigate the molecular mechanisms of anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity and look for potential treatments using patient-induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and 3D engineered cardiac tissue as models.
