Hilde Groot

Postdoc

With a medical background, Hilde studies the role of inflammatory biomarkers in the pathophysiology of ischemic heart diseases (coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, ischemic heart failure). She combines genetic, experimental and clinical data in order to gain more insights into the role of inflammation. Furthermore, she is studying the role of the human gut microbiome in myocardial infarction.

Contact details

The single-cell sequencing pilot studies genetic profiles of circulating inflammatory cells at a single cell level in myocardial infarction patients. This will be done during the acute and  chronic phase of a myocardial infarction and will be compared with data from healthy controls. In addition, stool samples are also collected.
