UMCG cardiology research center helps organize the ESC World Congress 2020 in Amsterdam

The UMCG cardiology scientists Carolyn Lam, Jur ter Berg and Daan Westenbrink have been appointed as members of the Congress Programme Committee for the ESC World Congress In cardiology. Under one roof with 90 other committee members they helped assemble a program that will consist of the very latest in cardiovascular science and innovation. The ESC World Congress in cardiology is the largest medical conference in the world and will include over 500 sessions and 4,500 presentations with a wide range of educational formats such as Late-Breaking Science Sessions, Case-Based Sessions, Guidelines Presentations, and Focus with the Experts Sessions.

In September 2020, the ESC World Congress will  bring together more than 33,000 cardiologists and cardiovascular scientists in the beautiful city of Amsterdam to challenge and learn from each other. The spotlight theme for ESC Congress 2020 is ‘The Cutting Edge of Cardiology’, featuring specific sessions on the latest technology in clinical cardiology available today and on the horizon. Most of all the ESC Congress, will be an opportunity to inspire and is first and foremost a celebration of discovery unlike any other.
